8.2.6) Employment policy pay scale equity
Have a policy on pay scale equity including a commitment to measurement and elimination of gender pay gaps.

In modern society, based on the principles of freedom, equality, democracy, and human rights, gender equality has long been a universal value. Gender equality is a fundamental right of all people, and everyone should be treated fairly and enjoy all economic, social, cultural, civil, and political rights, without any distinction or discrimination based on gender. Therefore, the government has established three gender equality laws to clearly demonstrate its commitment to addressing the situations and needs of different genders in all policy actions and resource allocations. These laws also actively promote the rights of marginalized genders and uphold gender justice. The Gender Equality in Employment Act focuses on the prevention and treatment of sexual harassment between employers and employees in the workplace. The Gender Equity Education Act is primarily concerned with preventing sexual harassment in schools, targeting cases where one party is a school principal, teacher, staff member, worker, or student, and the other party is a student. The Sexual Harassment Prevention Act covers sexual harassment outside the workplace and school settings, such as cases public transportation and in public places.

Our university actively complies with government regulations and values the outcomes of diverse dialogue. Gender equality is widely recognized, and the achievements and performances of female faculty and staff at our university have long been evident, becoming one of the main driving forces behind the university’s continuous progress and growth. Additionally, the salaries of our faculty and staff are determined according to the Tamkang University Faculty and Staff Salary and Allowance Calculation Standard Table and the Tamkang University Contract Staff Salary and Allowance Payment Standard Table. The basic salary ratio for men and women in the same positions is 1:1, with no gender pay gap.
