Based on the principle of protection and to ensure the rights and obligations of both parties in the contract, the labor conditions for campus cleaning and security outsourcing are explicitly required in the contracts to comply with Taiwan’s Labor Standards Act, Occupational Safety and Health Act, and other relevant regulations. The workers assigned to our university must be enrolled in labor insurance and National Health Insurance to ensure their health and safety. Additionally, provisions related to labor rights and obligations, as stipulated by Taiwan’s Gender Equality in Employment Act, Personal Data Protection Act, Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act, and other laws, are also specified in the contract as needed to ensure that outsourced workers enjoy equal rights. For example, the contract stipulates that the cleaning staff assigned by the contractor to our university must respect the sexual or physical autonomy of others and themselves, avoid unwelcome advances, and must not use coercion or violence to handle conflicts related to sex or gender.
