17.2.3) International collaboration data gathering for SDGs
Participate in international collaboration on gathering or measuring data for the SDGs.
Tamkang University actively participates in international collaboration on gathering or measuring data for the SDGs:
◆Faculty members from the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering and International scholars jointly published 14 journal papers related to SDG6 - Clean Water and Sanitation.
◆The Synchrotron Radiation Research Team from the Department of Physics signed a contract with the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center to establish an advanced radiation technology experimental station. This station can be used for the development of nanomaterials and energy technologies, benefiting humanity. The project is led by Professor Way-Faung Pong, who is overseeing the construction of the Taiwan Photon Source (TPS 45A2)-TKU experimental station (already operational) and the Taiwan Photon Source (TPS 27A1)-TKU experimental station (under construction). The team published four international-collaborated papers in 2020, 2 in 2021, an additional 6 in 2022, and a total of 18 collaborative papers in 2023.
◆The Department of Chemistry collaborated with Tay Nguyen University (TNU) in Vietnam to conduct research on the benefits and risks associated with inhibitor therapy in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
◆The Department of Chemistry collaborated with TNU and HCMUT (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology) to publish research papers on zero hunger, health care, and water resources.
◆The Wind Engineering Research Center has long been engaged in cutting-edge research and development of academic knowledge in building wind engineering and atmospheric environmental engineering in Taiwan. The center regularly organizes academic conferences and workshops to facilitate academic exchange and practical lectures related to wind engineering, promoting the dissemination of wind engineering knowledge and sharing research outcomes with the broader community.
