17.2.1) Relationships with NGOs and goverment for SDG policy

    I. Collaborating with government agencies on projects
    ◆Professor Kuo-Chung Yu from the Department of Artificial Intelligence participated in the 2023 “Feasibility Study on the Use of AI to Identify Abnormalities in Sewer Pipes" project of the Sewerage Systems Office of Public Works Department, Taipei City Government.
    ◆Assistant Professor Yu-Pei Ma from the Department of Mass Communication is working with the New Taipei City Public Access Chanel Activation and Utilization Committee to promote the 2022, 2023, and 2024 projects. In 2022, the focus was on providing shadow play narrative empowerment courses for new residents. In 2023, the initiative targeted elderly individuals with video workshops, and in 2024, the project is to offer video empowerment courses for civil servants of the Tamsui District. 新北大導演影像創作營登場 創意紀錄淡水生活
    ◆Senior students from the Department of Mass Communication applied for the New Taipei City Government Assist Youth Comprehensive Development Subsidy from the New Taipei City Government Youth Department for their “Graduation Production and Exhibition.” The exhibition, held at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei, showcased student works on social issues, lifestyle topics, and brand marketing plans. Through video, writing, and practical activities, the exhibition provided insights into these issues and conveyed perspectives from different generations, age groups, and communities.
    ◆Associate Professor Hui-Ju Lai from the Department of Information and Communication guided students in collaborating with the Shimen District Office to execute cultural and marketing promotion activities for Shimen’s three treasures. Through games, videos, and social media management, they aimed to spread awareness of the local specialties – rice dumplings, agar, and tea culture – to a wider audience. 資傳系師生辦創意生活節邀石門民眾同享

    II. Participating in the development of sustainability-related policies by government organizations
    ◆Faculty members from the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering serve in various key roles to promote the implementation of sustainable development goals. These roles include an independent director of Taiwan Water Corporation under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), a member of the Taipei City Disaster Prevention and Protection Expert Advisory Committee, a member of the Deji Reservoir Catchment Area Management Committee under MOEA, a member of the Ministry of the Interior’s Important Wetland Review Group, a member of the Ministry of Environment’s Tamsui River Pollution Remediation Project Promotion Group, a member of the MOEA Water Quality and Quantity Protection Area Review Committee, a member of the MOEA Water Rate Evaluation Committee, a member of the 5th Water Pollution Control Fee Rate Review Committee, and a member of the 5th session of the Environmental Protection Supervision Group of the Danjiang Bridge and Connecting Roads Project.
    ◆From October 1, 2022, to July 31, 2023, a faculty member of the Department of Chinese Literature served as the convener of the Chinese Proficiency Test Question Review Group for the 2023 Qualification Examination for Teachers in Schools Below Senior High School Level and Kindergartens, organized by the College Entrance Examination Center. This role involved setting literacy assessment indicators and question types, aligning with curriculum reforms and educational trends, incorporating the Curriculum Guidelines of 12-year Basic Education, educational policies, and major educational issues (including policies to enhance student learning effectiveness, the five domains of education, moral education, gender equality education, human rights education, multicultural education, and more) into the content and scope of the exam questions. This ensures that the Chinese Proficiency Test also includes content related to local authors, works, and cultural elements.
    ◆Faculty members of the Department of Risk Management and Insurance serve as a member of the Insurance Dispute Review Committee of the Ministry of Labor and a Dispute Review Committee member of the National Pension Supervisory Committee under the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
    ◆Faculty members of the Department of Economics serve as members of the following committees under the Ministry of Environment: the Renewable Resources Recycling and Reuse Promotion Committee, the Water Pollution Control Fee Rate Review Committee, the Water Pollution Control Fund Management Committee, the Greenhouse Gas Management Fund Management Committee, the Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation Fund Management Committee, the Resource Recycling Management Committee Fund Management Committee, and the Radioactive Material Safety Advisory Committee under the Nuclear Safety Commission, Executive Yuan.
    ◆A faculty member of the Department of Accounting serves as a committee member of the National Health Insurance Medical Payment Total Expense Range Formula Review Working Group, participating in the reform of the health insurance system.
    ◆Faculty members of the Department of Transportation Management serve as a professional review committee member of the Smart Urban-Rural Life Application Subsidy Project under the Industrial Development Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and a fifth-term committee member of the Child and Adolescent Accident and Injury Prevention Promotion Group.

    III.Collaborating with private organizations to promote sustainability efforts
    ◆The Tamkang University Press of the Office of Research and Development closely collaborates with e-book manufacturers to consistently release six e-books annually. This initiative helps reduce deforestation and the environmental impact associated with paper production, while also lowering transportation costs and carbon footprints. 淡江大學出版中心電子書專區
    ◆In June 2022, the Department of Economics signed an agreement with Longyuan Group to collaborate on the installation of an aquaponics system on the campuses of Tamkang University and Chong-Cheng Senior High School, aiming to establish an operational and monitorable module for this system.淡江大學魚菜共生系統創經濟永續
    ◆In June 2023, the Department of Economics signed an MOU with the Taiwanese NGO Do It Agronomy Corporation, jointly promoting land-friendly practices and a circular economy to achieve sustainable development goals.
    ◆In June 2023, the Department of Economics also signed an MOU with the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University’s Technology Management and Blockchain Research Center to jointly promote green finance and achieve sustainable development goals.
