11.2.6) Record and preserve cultural heritage
Deliver projects to record and preserve intangible cultural heritage such as local folklore, traditions, language, and knowledge.

    The Tamsui Campus of Tamkang University sits in the Tamsui District, which played a significant role in Taiwan's international trade development in the early days. It is rich in humanities and has great historical significance. There are 35 historic sites and historical buildings in the area. The teachers and students of Tamkang University are actively involved in recording and preserving local cultural assets.

    I. Local or Regional Cultural Heritage
    ◆The Department of Chinese's "Field Research Studio" publishes a magazine. The 15th issue, published in December 2022, focused on "A Stroll Through Post-War Tamsui Paintings," collecting and examining post-war Tamsui art. The 16th issue, published in July 2023, centered on "Case Studies of Women's Power in 21st Century Tamsui," featuring interviews with representative women from Tamsui. 《淡淡》新世紀淡水女力專題分享
    ◆The Department of Information and Library Science's "Tamsui Wiki Museum" is a collaborative digital humanities platform that preserves the 400-year history of the Tamsui River basin. It supports the teaching, research, and dissemination of Tamsui Studies, Taipei Studies, Local Studies, and Taiwanese History.
    ◆The faculty and students of the Department of Information and Library Science expanded the Malaysian Chinese Wiki Museum, which explores the culture of Malaysia and Southeast Asia. This initiative strengthens international connections by sharing Taiwan's experiences globally and delves into Malaysian Chinese culture. It also serves as a platform for cultivating talent with knowledge of Malaysia. It acts as a starting point for further exploration of Southeast Asia, aligning with the government's New Southbound Policy.

    II. National Cultural Heritage
    ◆The Department of Mass Communication's Tamkang News covers cultural and folk-related activities, including ceramic culture, Taiwanese opera, tribal culture, and Mazu pilgrimages. These reports are broadcast on the Public Television PeoPo Citizen News Platform, Tamkang Television's official website, and YouTube channel.
    ◆The Department of Mass Communication’s Voice of Tamkang Radio reports on arts and cultural exhibitions, including topics such as the Tamsui Port Opening Special Exhibition, the Huwei Grass Slope Wind Festival, and the introduction of the Cheng Family's ancient residence in Gongsitian River. These reports are broadcast on Tamkang Voice FM 88.7.
