◆On November 14, 2022, the College of Liberal Arts invited Dr. Eric Yang, founder of Tutor ABC, to give a lecture titled “The Unicorn Path: Unveiling the Key Mindset of Leading a Team.” He shared the entrepreneurial journey of how Tutor ABC grew from nothing into a unicorn company, as well as the key mindset and practical experiences in pursuing excellence.
◆In May 2023, the College of Liberal Arts held the 42nd Literary Week with the theme “Cross-Disciplinary and Sustainable: A New Era for the College of Liberal Arts.” The event showcased the “cross-disciplinary innovation” achievements of faculty and students, highlighting the sustainable features of various departments. It encouraged students to bravely engage in cross-disciplinary learning and cultivate diverse interests and expertise.
文學院跨域與永續 ◆The Department of Mass Communication's “Tamkang News” covers topics such as sports and arts, consumer lifestyle, humanistic care, innovation and entrepreneurship, and environmental management. These reports are broadcast on the Public Television Service PeoPo Citizen Journalism Platform, the Tamkang TV Station website, and the YouTube channel.
◆In September 2022, the College of Foreign Languages and Literatures, in collaboration with the university library, the Tamsui Cultural Foundation, and the Movimiento Poetas del Mundo, co-organized the “Formosa International Poetry Festival in Tamsui: International Poetry Festival Poetry Collection Exhibition.”
淡水福爾摩莎國際詩歌節 ◆On December 21, 2022, at 6 PM, the Department of Spanish held the “Grape-Eating New Year's Eve” event, inviting local residents to join in the festivities. The event introduced the Spanish New Year's Eve tradition, promoted Spanish culture, and connected with the world.
高中生一起體驗西語文化 跨年吞葡萄 ◆The Department of German held a German Christmas Party featuring various cultural programs such as poetry readings by foreign teachers, students singing German Christmas songs led by teaching assistants, a drama performance, and interactive games. The event offered traditional German delicacies like mulled wine and Stollen, allowing participants to experience German customs and traditions.
◆Every March, the Department of Russian holds the traditional Slavic “Maslenitsa” festival, inviting nearby high school students to join and experience this lesser-known folk celebration in Taiwan. Participants engage in making and tasting festive foods, partake in holiday competitions, learn about the Russian alphabet, and sing Russian songs, offering high school students a unique cultural experience.

a.Collaborated with the Tamsui Business Area Cultural Association to organize an empowerment workshop to help local businesses enhance their marketing capabilities.
b.Collaborated with the Tamsui Leisure Farming Association to organize digital DIY workshops, leading community residents on field trips to the Linzi River, promoting environmental conservation, and combining DIY laser engraving courses to create eco-themed creative products.
◆Tamsui-Yilan Land & Sea Travel Light
a.From July 28 to 30, 2022, the "Closer to Yilan Step by Step: Ancient Trails, Plains, and Tribal Wisdom Interactive Exhibition" was held. It guided the public to participate in an interactive technology-based small-scale travel experience centered around Mackay's journey through interactive technology and physical displays of local culture and heritage.
◆Farm Foodies
a.Participated in the forum for creating more favorable local relationships, focusing on agricultural communities and population-related issues, during the North Coast Cross-Campus Sustainability Practice Joint Exhibition and the Co-creation of the North Coast Academic Seminar in November 2022.
B.Colleges and Departments
a.The Women's Literature Research Office of the Department of Chinese Literature at the College of Liberal Arts, in collaboration with the "Voice of Tamkang" radio station of the Department of Mass Communication, has produced a podcast program titled "Women's Literature Exploration Team." From November 2022 to January 2023, the program shared and discussed topics related to women and gender issues with the audience. In June 2023, all the podcast contents were compiled and published as the book "Women's Literature Exploration Team Podcast Season One: The Loneliness of Daily Trivial Matters."
b.To celebrate the 160th anniversary of the opening of Tamsui Port, the Department of Information and Library Science and the Tamsui Wiki Museum jointly held an online “Storytelling” event on September 30, 2022. The event showcased solid historical research, field investigations, and VR and videos of aerial, land, and sea footage. The content was rich, and the storytelling was engaging, receiving positive feedback from both faculty and students on and off campus.
c.On December 8, 2022, the Department of Information and Library Science held a sharing event for the achievements of Tamkang University's USR-Hub project, "Digitally Connecting Mackay & Tamkang Culture". The event featured activities such as "Singing Our Own Songs of Tamsui" and "Rap Local Stories." Participants sang songs that were connected to the local land and integrated the culture and customs of Tamsui, deepening the emotional connection between people and the local community.
線上重現淡水文史華 唱出淡江人心聲 d.On December 8 and 9, 2022, the Department of Information and Library Science in the College of Liberal Arts, in collaboration with the Library Week of Christ’s College Taipei, held a two-day "VR Metaverse Exhibition." The exhibition showcased three main themes developed by the Tamsui Wiki Library: "The Tamsui-Jinshan Coastal Stone Weirs," "Old Tamsui: River, Sea, and Mountain City," and "Four Hundred Years of Tamsui and Keelung, the Twin Cities." These exhibitions are combined to present the historical landscape and cultural uniqueness of Greater Tamsui to the public.
e.On June 17, 2023, the Department of Information and Library Science held a workshop titled “Humanities x AI Technology x Medicine: Developing an AI Mobile App for Elderly Care.”
守滬樂齡工作坊 陪伴長者APP f. In November 2022, the Department of Information and Communication organized the "2022 Shimen Creative Life Festival," aimed to guide participants in applying creativity to address local life, ecological preservation, and other relevant topics. During the event, a local market showcasing Shimen's agricultural products and vegetarian dining options was set up. This allowed attendees to learn more about the characteristics of the Shimen area and the creative application of a sustainable lifestyle, thereby promoting local revitalization, ecological education, and public welfare initiatives.
