7.4.4) Policy development for clean energy tech

    The university provides information and support to the government in terms of clean energy and energy-saving technology policies. The relevant actions are as follow:
    1. Tamkang is one of the founding and permanent members of the "Green University Union of Taiwan": Taiwan’s colleges and universities that care about environmental protection and sustainable development have initiated the establishment of the "Green University Union of Taiwan" in 2013. Since its operation, Tamkang is one of the founding and permanent members. In 2019, TKU served as a supervisory university. Together, it will continue to exert cooperation and influence on the topic of energy-saving and carbon reduction in colleges and universities with the implementation of SDGs.
    2. Project Proposal: The professor of the Department of Architecture cooperates with the New Taipei City Government on the Green Elf Project. The professor of the Department of Architecture serves as a lecturer for energy conservation and carbon reduction in public service agencies in the Department of Environmental Protection. The professor of the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering served as a member of Formosa Plastics/CNPC from 2018 to 2020 to import petroleum for manufacturing petrochemical raw material feed application oil fund refund review member, energy field technology research and development group performance evaluation member, and from 2019 to 2020, served as an energy technology project plan member of the technical review committee. The professor of the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering implemented the "Industrial Innovation Development Plans, Ministry of Education", with the project name of "A total recycling cleaner process for producing wastewater ceramic filter membrane by municipal solid waste incinerator fly ash". Professors of the Department of Economics participated in the review of research projects by the Bureau of Energy from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and proposed various ways to further energy conservation as a country. The review of the plans of the Ministry of Science and Technology to promote energy conservation and green energy provided relevant meetings to the Ministry of Economic Affairs Technology Division and SME Division) with review opinions.
