The faculties, staff, students, community members, or visitors of the Tamsui campus may walk in and out of the campus free of charge, visiting areas like the Chinese Palace-styled classrooms and the Chueh-Hsuan Chinese Garden seeking for the architectural features and historical significance of various buildings. It is common for community residents to take advantage of the beautiful environment of the university for recreational activities or sports. Visitors may exchange their identification to enter the Lanyang campus every day from 8 am to 6 pm. Visitors may enter the library by exchanging for a temporary identification at the information counter, and use more than one million books and informational services free of charge. The give-away of used books and periodicals is open upon request. Various exhibitions are held in the Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center, the Maritime Museum, and the Black Swan Exhibition Hall, as well as the exhibitions of ancient and modern Chinese and foreign ship models, which are open to the public free of charge. Exhibitions of art lectures, music performance activities, graduation production performances, and student learning achievements from various units within the university are available for public viewing. The research and development of the digital e-pen calligraphy and painting system continuously cultivate from the windows computer version to the iOS and Android systems. This has made great contributions to the promotion of calligraphy and painting. The courses offered by the USR project plan on the religious culture of Tamsui as the theme, with the preservation of intangible cultural heritage as the learning goal, and puts forward 5 various plan proposals. The travel literature course-the drama group plan adapted the script based on Jimmy's picture book "Turn Left Turn Right," and performed live Chinese and English drama performances at the Jimmy Theme Plaza in Yilan. The College of Liberal Arts took the emphasis on the history and culture of Tamsui, develops Tamsui science researches, assists in the recording, and preservation of local cultural-historical materials: conducting cultural and historical sites such as Danhai New Town, Tamsui Grocery Store, Bok Su Lao Coffee, XingRen River, Shih Family Historical Residence records; participates in the "Sino-French War of Tamsui in 1884" at the Tamsui Heritage Museum; maintains the digital information platform of Tamsui wiki, Taiwan BaseBall wiki , and Taiwan BaseBall wiki Co-build the Digital Humanities Collaboration System; "Tamkang News" records activities related to traditional and folklore culture.
