7.2.2) Upgrade buildings to higher energy efficiency
Have plans to upgrade existing buildings to higher energy efficiency
1. The Tamsui campus arranges a budget for energy-saving improvement projects annually. The older models of energy-consuming air-conditioning equipment are updated to new high-efficiency air-conditioning equipment. The lighting equipment also replaces traditional lamps with LED energy-saving lamps and is managed by the campus energy monitoring system. The system efficiently supervises the operation status of all equipment. In 2019, a budget of 9.3 million NTD was prepared for implementation.
2. The facade of the Department of Architecture has the first solar curtain wall made of glass on the school campus in Taiwan. The walls and roofs of the second, third, and fourth floors are equipped with solar panels. The electrical energy obtained during the daytime is used on exhaust fans from all floors of the department to keep the studio ventilation smooth. Afterward, wind towers will be installed on the roof to reduce the indoor temperature of the department hall during summer days.
