    To pursue sustainable development, in terms of environmental protection, safety, and health, the university sets up a first-level unit "Environmental Protection and Safety and Health Center" in 2000 for the promotion of various environmental safety and health work on campus, and introduced ISO14001 in 2003 and promoted OHSAS18001 in 2012, and then implemented ISO50001 in 2015. It has a set budget every year to implement improvements and pass on external audits annually. It is one of the very few educational institutions in Taiwan that maintains the validity of the verification every year. In 2011, the original on-campus energy conservation promotion working group was expanded into the "Environmental Sustainability Promotion Committee" to upgrade the level of environmental sustainability affairs on campus; from 2011 to 2013, it won the Taiwan Enterprise Environmental Protection Award for three consecutive years, making it the first in the country universities that have been awarded the "Honorary Enterprise Environmental Protection Award"; in 2017, they won the Silver Award of the Energy Conservation Benchmarking Award of the Executive Yuan. Tamkang continuously publishes information about sustainable development through the center's website.
